As amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, Annex III high-risk obligations in Chapter III Sections 1, 2 and 3 apply from 2 December 2027. Annex I product-related high-risk systems move to 2 August 2028.
The 2 December 2027 date for Annex III obligations looks distant, but appointing a representative, agreeing a written mandate, and setting up a document availability workflow is not something to start the week before a deadline. Authorities can request documentation on short notice once the obligation is live, so the representative relationship needs to be operational, not just signed, well before the compliance date.
